ChamaWP Plugin – February 2025 Release

I am excited to share with you the latest updates for the ChamaWP plugin. This update brings several improvements and new features based on the feedback I have been receiving.  The new updates are designed to enhance the user experience and streamline subscription and membership management.

Here’s what’s new:

New Features & Improvements:

1. FREE Membership Level Sign-Up:
    As the website administrator, you do not need to add a tier for the FREE membership. To sign up for a FREE membership, the only thing your users have to do is sign up for an account and verify their email address from the confirmation email that will be sent to them. Upon verification of the email, the user’s membership will be activated. The membership will not be activated if they do not verify their email address. A note describing this restriction has been added to the WordPress admin dashboard.
2. Update to the Subscription Receipt:
   The renewal date has been removed from the receipt for cancelled subscriptions to eliminate any confusion.
3. Membership Deactivation Based on Subscription Expiration:
   Memberships will now deactivate based on the subscription’s original expiration date, not the cancellation date. Previously, memberships were deactivated immediately upon cancellation.
4. Adding Donations & Subscription Payments to Crowdfunding Campaign Goals:
   We’ve added an option that allows you to include donations and subscription payments as contributions to the active crowdfunding campaign.
5. Save and Re-Use Payment Methods:
   Users can now save their payment methods and re-use them for future transactions, making the checkout process even easier.
6. Paywalled Comments Messaging Update:
   We’ve updated the messaging for paywalled comments to clear up confusion about whether the comments are closed.
7. Account Deletion Feature:
   Users now have the ability to delete their accounts directly from their account dashboard. This action will immediately cancel any subscriptions and revoke login access.
8. Integration with Toocheke
   We’ve added some support for Toocheke that improves the way comic posts are setup behind a paywall.

How to Get the Update:

To access these updates, make sure you’re using the latest version of the ChamaWP plugin. If you haven’t updated yet, you can do so by navigating to Plugins → Installed Plugins in your WordPress admin dashboard, and locating your installed copy of ChamaWP.
