Toocheke Gets a Major Admin Menu Upgrade

If you’ve been managing your webcomic or manga on a Toocheke-powered site, you may have noticed that the WordPress admin sidebar was getting a little… crowded. All your Comics, Series, Manga Series, Manga Volumes, and Manga Chapters were tucked under a single Toocheke menu, which meant a lot of scrolling and hunting around to find what you needed.

With the latest update to Toocheke Companion, that changes!

🗂️ What’s Changed?

The admin menu has been reorganized to give each major content type its own dedicated top-level menu.

Here’s how it looks now:

• Toocheke — Dashboard, Options, and import tools
• Comics — All Comics, Add New, plus quick access to Collections, Chapters, Tags, Locations, and Characters
• Series — All Series, Add New, Genres, and Tags
• Manga Series — All Manga Series, Add New, Genres, and Publishers
• Manga Volumes — All Volumes and Add New Volume
• Manga Chapters — All Chapters and Add New Chapter

Each menu also links directly to the taxonomy pages is now just one click away instead of being buried inside a hub page.

🔍 New Admin Filters Too!

Alongside the menu changes, this update also adds filter dropdowns to your admin list screens so you can quickly find exactly what you’re looking for:

• All Comics — filter by series, collections, chapters, tags, locations, and characters
• All Manga Series — filter by genre and publisher
• All Manga Volumes — filter by manga series
• All Manga Chapters — filter by manga series and manga volume.

🙋 Why This Change?

As Toocheke has grown to support new features, the single-menu approach was starting to feel cramped. This reorganization makes the admin experience much more intuitive — especially for creators who manage both comics and manga on the same site.

The goal is simple: spend less time navigating menus and more time creating.

⚠️ Heads Up for Existing Users

If you’re updating from an older version of Toocheke Companion, your content is completely safe — nothing changes on the front end of your site. The only difference is where things are in the WordPress sidebar. It may take a moment to get used to, but everything is still there, just better organized.
