If you’ve been using the excellent Webcomic plugin and are looking to switch to a modern, actively maintained alternative, I’ve got you covered. This new import tool makes the transition smooth, effortless, and stress-free.

💥 What’s New in Toocheke Companion 1.178?

The latest version of the Toocheke Companion plugin introduces a powerful importer that:

• Migrates all your comics (images, text, and publish dates included)
• Preserves your comic metadata and featured images
• Maps your collections to Series
• Maps your storylines to Chapters
• Imports your characters
• Keeps your archive structure intact

🛠️ How to Migrate in 4 Easy Steps

1. Install the latest Toocheke Companion plugin, and if you wish, the Toocheke theme if you want the full experience.
2. (Highly recommended): Install the free UpdraftPlus plugin and create a backup of your database — just in case anything goes wrong. There is a good tutorial here on using UpdraftPlus.
3. In your WordPress admin area, go to:
   Toocheke → Import from Webcomic
4. Click the blue Import button.

That’s it! 🎉 Your comics will now show up under Toocheke → All Comics, ready to go live in your beautiful new comic archive.

I’ve heard from so many creators who love Toocheke but feel stuck because their entire comic archive was built with the Webcomic plugin. They weren’t sure how to migrate their work without starting from scratch. So, I built this feature to make that transition easy and stress-free.
